He was born in Ankara in 1977. Akın, who graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Kütahya Dumlupınar in year 2002, completed his master’s degree in 2020 in the field of Political Science and Public Administration from Faculty of Social Sciences at Hoca Ahmet Yesevi University. He graduated from Occupational Health and Safety Department at Anadolu University in year 2021. He is currently continuing his bachelor’s degree in the field of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations at Anadolu University Faculty of Economics.

Akın started his professional career at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MoLSS) served as a public official, chief officer, expert, and branch manager within our Ministry. Akın who started working at the European Union (EU) Coordination Department within the MoLSS, also took part in implementing programs and monitoring and reporting projects that were within the scope of ‘EU Harmonization Process.’ After carrying out this duty, he participated in projects financed by national and international funds for the Disadvantaged Groups Department of the General Directorate of Labour.

After working as an Expert in the Public Unions Branch Directorate of the Department of Trade Unions, he served as Branch Manager first in the Union Membership Department and then in the Statistics Department.

Akın, who was assigned as the Director to the Unions Department in December 2021, then became the Deputy General Director of Labour in November 2022 of which he was the acting Deputy General Director.

Akın is married, has two children and fluent in English.
