A meeting was held in Ankara to prevent child labor in seasonal agriculture and to ensure access to education.


Within the scope of the National Program to Combat Child Labor (2017-2023), the Prevention of Child Labor in Seasonal Agriculture Project carried out by our Ministry within the framework of activities to prevent child labor in seasonal agriculture and financed by the resources of the European Union and our country, will be held in Ankara on May 30-31, 2022. Legislative Assessment Workshop and Coordination Meeting for the Prevention of Child Labor and Ensuring Access to Education were held.

The meeting, where our General Manager Nurcan Önder made the opening speeches, was attended by the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Basic Education, International Labor Organization, provincial national education directorates, non-governmental organizations and university officials. On the first day of the meeting, presentations were made on child labor and the orientation of children to education; Participants' evaluations regarding the Circular No. 2016/5 on Access to Education for Seasonal Agricultural Workers and Children of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Families were received.

On the second day of the meeting, under the moderation of Suat Dede, Head of the Department of Employment Policies of our General Directorate, evaluations were made regarding the activities carried out in the field within the framework of our project and our possible cooperation with the Ministry of National Education regarding the orientation of children, which is an important component of the project, to education. The meeting ended with the future planning of the project activities and the opinions and contributions of the participants.
