The minimum wage for 2022 was determined as 5,004 TL gross and 4,253.40 TL net.
At the 4th meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission held on 16 December, the minimum wage level to be applied in 2022 was determined with the agreement of all parties. The Commission Decision that the minimum wage of the worker for 1 day of normal work was determined as 166.80 TL for the period 01.01.2022 - 31.12.2022 was published in the Official Gazette dated 17.12.2021.
With the decision, the net minimum wage was increased by 50.5% compared to the previous year in 2022 and was reduced to 4,253.40 TL per month. This rate is approximately 30 points above the November inflation rate announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute.
In order to reduce the pressure of the minimum wage increase on employers' costs and to raise the net minimum wage, the public authority made a decision on income and stamp taxes and decided to remove income and stamp taxes from the minimum wage. With this support, the cost of the minimum wage to the employer will be kept at the level of 5,879.70 TL.
