The ‘60th Anniversary of the Labour Agreement” was organized in Salzburg.

In collaboration with the Office of the Labour and Social Security Attaché in Salzburg, the Consulate General of Salzburg and Turkish Associations active in the region, a commemoration ceremony was held on 11 May 2024 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Labour Force Agreement, which was signed between Türkiye and Austria on 15 May 1964.

Ozan Ceyhun, the Ambassador to Austria, Günay Babadogan-Ertan, the Consul General in Salzburg, Tarık Mete, Salzburg Municipality Council Member as well as association representatives and citizens attended the ceremony.

Günay Babadogan-Ertan, the Consul General in Salzburg, Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun and Tarık Mete made the opening speech in the program, which continued with the ‘Migration Stories’ video, which shows interviews with our citizens from the first and second generations. In addition, academicians and businessmen participated in in the panel discussion which shed light on the social and economic effects of migration and the process in which our people who were once workers became employers in time. In the last part of the program, articles about migration were read from the Telve magazine, which is published by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, to which writers from the Turkish diaspora contributed, while a Turkish folk music concert was organized by local artists.
