Work Permit Exemption

It refers to an exemption issued by our Ministry in the form of an official document that gives the foreigner the right to work and reside in Türkiye without a work permit within the validity period.

It is necessary to apply for work permit exemption for internships that are required as a part of university education. In accordance with Article 48 of the Implementing Regulation, a work permit exemption can be issued for "foreign students enrolled in a formal education program in Türkiye who are obliged to do an internship with an employer within the scope of vocational training in accordance with the relevant legislation, during the compulsory internship".

In accordance with Article 24 of Law No. 6735 and Article 23 of Law No. 6458, work permits and work permit exemptions to be granted to foreigners whose requests are deemed appropriate by our Ministry are regulated not to exceed sixty days before the expiration date of the passport. In addition, work permit and work permit exemption applications made with a passport or passport substitute document with a validity of less than sixty days as of the date of application are not processed.
