Press Release of 6 December 2021

Press Release of 6 December 2021

During the negotiations of the 6th Term Collective Agreement, which determines the financial and social rights of 4 million civil servants and more than 2 million civil servant pensioners for the period of 2022 – 2023, significant gains were achieved for public servants. The salaries of civil servants and civil servant pensioners were increased with cumulative increases ranging between 30 and 35 percent and additional payment for inflation rise. The issue of 3600 Additional Indicator has been turned into a collective agreement clause and thus ceased to be a promise.

Due to economic fluctuations, it was necessary to make some updates on the relevant clauses of the collective agreement. It is unacceptable to weaken the collective agreement, which is a democratic institution in the implementation of these amendments. Therefore, as an outcome of our negotiations with our authorised confederations and unions, we aim to make a comprehensive social protection arrangement that takes into account the inflation gap in our collective agreement in order to increase the purchasing power of our public employees. The work in question is considered as a social welfare arrangement beyond the inflation difference pay that takes into account not only doctors but also all health personnel and even to cover all our public personnel.

We continue our efforts to stand by our promise not to crush our employees against inflation and to complete this arrangement as soon as possible in order to eliminate the effects of fluctuations in the economy on public employees.
