Duties of the Department of Legislation and International Agreements;

  1. Drafting legislation in the field of duty of the Directorate General, to make the necessary changes and to form the opinion of the Directorate General by examining the draft legislation prepared by other institutions,
  2. To follow up and ensure the coordination regarding the fulfillment of the rights and obligations included in the international conventions and bilateral or multilateral agreements in the field of duty of the Directorate General to which Türkiye is a party,
  3. Contributing to litigation processes related to the Directorate General's field of duty and meeting court requests,
  4. To form legal opinions in areas within the scope of responsibility of the Directorate General and to convey them to the relevant institutions when necessary,
  5. Contributing to the negotiations, preparation and amendment of labour agreements and social security agreements to be signed with other countries,
  6. To conduct studies and contribute to issues related to its field of duty in the establishment of national migration and international labour force policies,
  7. To carry out studies on determining work permit evaluation criteria,
  8. To carry out work related to the legislation regarding the establishment of promotion offices,
  9. To evaluate exceptional Turkish citizenship applications reaching the Directorate General within the scope of Article 12 of Law No. 5901,
  10. To carry out studies to determine the procedures and principles regarding work permits for international students and graduates of a higher education institution in Türkiye,
  11. To carry out studies to determine the professions that require prior permission,
  12. To carry out correspondence regarding violation of notification obligations regulated under the Law and Regulation and unauthorized employment of foreigners,
  13. To determine the information that needs to be entered into the system and the documents that need to be uploaded during the work permit application,
  14. To carry out studies on determining the procedures and principles listed within the scope of the Law and Regulation,
  15. To prepare and implement national and international projects on issues related to its field of duty, to ensure the support and implementation of the prepared projects,
  16. Contributing to the preparation of periodical and non-periodical publications of the Directorate General,
  17. Participating in national and international training activities related to the field of duty and carrying out these activities,
  18. To carry out other duties assigned by the General Manager.
