Under the coordination of our General Directorate, the "Labor Migration Policies and Governance" international conference was held on 11-12 September 2023 with the contributions of local, national and international participants.
The conference, which was held within the scope of the "Technical Assistance Project for Increasing the Policy-Making Capacity of the General Directorate of International Labor Force in the Field of Labor Migration", which is carried out within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA-II) and of which our General Directorate is the beneficiary, was opened by Mr. Metehan ÖZCAN, Deputy General Manager of our General Directorate. It started with speeches, continued with a plenary session and panels on various themes, and ended with the last session where the results of the panel were conveyed and discussed.
The panels were held under the themes of "Talent Attraction Policies", "Future of Work and Mobility", "Matching of Immigrants with Jobs Suitable for the Labor Market", "Policies and Practices Regarding Skilled Immigration and Relations with Diaspora" and "Immigrants Working in the Field of Education and Research". In the panels, information and experience were shared by the relevant national institutions/organizations and our General Directorate officials, as well as national and foreign university representatives, ICMPD, ILO, IOM, OECD, UNDP international officials and representatives of foreign non-governmental organizations specialized in the field of international migration, and accordingly, working life Forecasts regarding the future and the context of labor migration, matching processes in the labor market and dynamics regarding foreigners working in the field of education and research are explained; The importance of qualified labor force attraction policies and diaspora networks in the context of labor migration is emphasized.
