The 1st Advisory Board Meeting of the Project on Supporting Decent Work Opportunities for Syrians and Turkish Citizens under Temporary Protection was Held.


The 1st Advisory Board meeting of the Project on Supporting Decent Work Opportunities for Syrians and Turkish Citizens under Temporary Protection, financed by the German Development Bank and carried out in partnership with the International Labor Organization and our Directorate General, was held on 21 September with the participation of representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organizations. .

In the opening speech of the meeting, our General Manager Mr. Ali AYBEY said; He mentioned that the cooperation between the International Labor Organization (ILO) and our Ministry dates back to ancient times, the importance of the ILO Conventions that determine the standards in working life and the concept of decent work for our national labor market, and the importance of continuing our close cooperation with the ILO in the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. He also emphasized that our General Directorate's labor migration management includes both attracting qualified labor and the registered inclusion of Syrians in the labor market, and that while ensuring this, protecting our domestic workforce is the main priority. Our General Manager, Mr. Ali AYBEY, also expressed his gratitude to the International Labor Organization and the German Development Bank for allocating funds from the project to be used for the urgent needs of the earthquake region following the earthquake disaster we experienced in February.

Following the opening speeches and informative presentations about the project, the meeting was completed with the workshop section, where representatives of institutions and organizations presented their suggestions and contributions regarding the project.
