The Second Steering Committee Meeting of the "Project Promoting Decent Work For Syrians Under Temporary Protection and Turkish Citizens," financed by the KfW Development Bank and carried out in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and our Directorate General, was held on May 29 in Ankara with the participation of representatives from public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

Second Steering Committee Meeting of the Project Promoting Decent Work For Syrians Under Temporary Protection and Turkish Citizens Held in Ankara

The Second Steering Committee Meeting of the "Project Promoting Decent Work For Syrians Under Temporary Protection and Turkish Citizens," financed by the KfW Development Bank and carried out in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and our Directorate General, was held on May 29 in Ankara with the participation of representatives from public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

In his opening speech, ILO Türkiye Office Director Yasser Ahmed HASSAN thanked the Directorate General of International Labour Force for its cooperation in the project implementation and the improvements in the work permit process.

 

In his opening remarks, our Director General Ali AYBEY emphasized the importance of the ongoing cooperation between the ILO and our Ministry and expressed gratitude for the joint efforts. He highlighted that our country's international labor policy and the management of labor migration by our Directorate General aim to attract qualified labor and integrate foreigners under international protection into the labor market in a registered manner while prioritizing the protection of our domestic labor force. He also noted that the first meeting held last September was highly productive. Our Director General thanked the KfW Development Bank for its cooperation and contributions.

 

The meeting concluded with a workshop segment, where representatives from various institutions and organizations presented their suggestions and contributions to the project following the opening speeches and informational presentations.
