Turquoise (Turkuaz) Card
In line with international labour force policy; Turquoise (Turkuaz) Card is given to foreigners whose applications are deemed appropriate in accordance with their education level, professional experience, contribution to science and technology, the impact of their activities or investments in Türkiye on the country's economy and employment, and the recommendations of the International Labour Force Policy Advisory Board and the procedures and principles determined by the Ministry.
- Highly qualified labor force in terms of education level, wage, professional knowledge and experience, contribution to science and technology and similar qualifications,
- Considered as a highly qualified investor in terms of the level of investment or export, the size of the employment it will provide, its contribution to scientific and technological development and similar characteristics,
- Scientist or researcher who contributes to scientific and technological development or conducts studies and research in the fields of science, industry and technology that are considered strategic for the interests of the country at the international level,
- Successful at the international level in terms of cultural, artistic or sporting activities,
- Contributes to the international recognition or promotion of Turkey or Turkish culture, and is active at the international level on issues related to Turkey's national interests, foreigners can be issued a Turquoise Card.
Turquoise Card is granted with a provisional period of first three years as a transition period. The Ministry may request information and documents regarding the activities carried out from the employer or the foreigner during this transition period. The transition period is considered to be completed and removed upon the application of the foreigner unless the Card is canceled within the transition period in accordance with Article 15 of the Regulation on Turquoise Card, and an indefinite Truquoise Card is issued. This application must be made within one hundred and eighty days before the end of the transition period, and in any case not after the end of the transition period. After this period expires, the application to remove the transition period registration will be rejected and the Turkuaz Card will become invalid.
In accordance with the relevant legislation, the spouse and dependent children of the Turquoise Card holder foreigner are given a document that proves that they are relatives of the Turquoise Card holder and serves as a residence permit. In addition, the Turquoise Card holder benefits from the rights provided by the indefinite work permit.
Turquoise Card is not granted to foreigners who are under temporary protection in Türkiye.
