Application Types

It is made for foreigners who are in our country and have a valid residence permit for at least six (6) months. In this case, the foreigner has a T.C. Foreigner Identity Number starting with 99.

In case the foreigner does not have a residence permit, he/she applies for a work visa by going to the Turkish foreign representative office in the country of his/her nationality. It has a 16-digit reference number that will be given to him from there.

• In order to extend the duration of a work permit issued by the Ministry, an application must be made before the expiration of the permit, starting from 60 days before the expiration of the existing work permit. Extension applications made after the expiration of the work permit are evaluated in accordance with the procedures and principles of the first application.
• After the legal working period of one year, if the extension application is evaluated positively according to Article 7 of Law No. 6735, a work permit may be granted for up to two years in the first extension application and up to three years in subsequent extension applications, depending on the same employer. Applications to work for a different employer are evaluated according to the first application procedures and principles.
• The request for extension of work permit is made electronically via e-government, as in the first application.
